Did George Clooney travel to Iran?
In the past, George Clooney has shown interest in Iran-related movies, as in Syriana and Argo. Iranians also like Clooney. His image was used to promote an expensive watch brand on a billboard in Tehran (link). Clooney also received hotel room keys (picture) from the Iranian American "wife candidate" of Tom Cruise, actress and model Nazanin Bonyadi. But that was in a TV commercial! (clip here). Now there are serious news of Clooney's travel to Iran.
This week, Iran's UN Ambassador publicly invited George Clooney, on CNN's GPS with Farid Zakaria, to visit Iran for himself and then apologize for factual errors in making Argo. Some Iranian websites reported this (link in Kodoom.com's Persian News Aggregator) but others claimed Clooney had in fact already visited Tehran, with government's official permit, two years before making Argo! as Tabnak quotes (link) Vatan Emrooz and Russian sources.
Clooney's trip to Iran cannot be independently confirmed but given his deep attraction to anything Iranian don't be surprised to buy his next villa by the shores of Caspian sea or slopes of Tehran.
