Googoosh absent from ceremonial tribute to Behrouz Vosoughi; Tapesh TV bankrupt?

July 25, 2010

The legendary Iranian diva, Googoosh, and the legendary Iranian actor, Behrouz Vosoughi, were once married for a little more than a year. Googoosh also appeared and performed theme songs for some of Vosoughi's most successful hits - and best selling movies in Iranian history. But Googoosh is not an honorary guest in next week's ceremonial tribute to Vosoughi in Los Angeles.

Googoosh' absence may be related to her past legal disputes with Alireza Amirghassemi, the event co-producer. Amirghassemi, a well known Los Angeles based Persian music producer and promoter, was recently forced, by massive debt and legal disputes, to sell his once successful Tapesh TV, a Persian entertainment TV. The TV is now operating on a smaller scale, under a new name and ownership, and has retained Amirghassemi as a show producer.
