The Iranian heritage of Alex Mehran, the great grandson of IBM founder
Not many people may know that Alex Mehran, the great grandson of Thomas J. Watson, the founder of IBM, is half Iranian. Alex's father is Alexander R. Mehran, of Iranian descent, and his mother, is Lucinda B. Watson, the granddaughter of Thomas J. Watson, the legendary founder of IBM, and the daughter of Thomas J. Watson, Jr.
Alex Mehran who recently married supermodel Maggie Rizer (pictured above), is also, on his father's side, grandson of the legendary developer Masud Mehran, who was born in Iran in 1920 and came to the United States in 1944. Masud Mehran founded Sunset Development Company, which built Sunset- Town, a planned community of more than 16,000 residents, accounting for one-third of the population of Livermore, California. Mehran's company is also responsible for Bishop Ranch Business Park. A $2 billion project, it is one of the major suburban business parks in the U.S.
Although heir to the wealthy Watson family, Alex's mother, Lucinda, pursues a peaceful and spiritual life. She is an author and a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner at the Boyd Center in Greenwich, Connecticut. She also practices yoga and meditation in her daily life.
Both Alex's parents, have been supporters of democratic causes and the democratic party, just like Thomas Watson, the founder of IBM.
