Statutes of Iranian hero, Arash Kamangir, disappeared because they insulted Khomeini
Shomal News: 16 bronze statutes depicting Iranian mythological epic hero Arash Kamangir on chariots or horses, mysteriously disappeared last week from a public Square in Northern city of Sari in Iran. Today it was disclosed that Faramarz Naghibi, Head of Islamic Council, reported Islamic prosecutor has ordered removal of large statutes because they insult Ayatollah Khomeini.
The statutes have been decorating public squares in Sari since 1975. Arash Kamangir, is Iran's epic archer that infused his own life into his arrow and threw it as far as possible to expand Iranian borders.
