Iranian Judiciary to Hold on-site Trials in the Stadium for any Protesters during Tomorrow's Soccer Game
Rooydad quoting from IRNA:
This Friday there will be a soccer game in Azadi Stadium, Tehran's largest (100,000 capacity) between Iran's two most popular soccer teams (Esteghlal and Persepolis). For the first time in any sports games, there will be two on-site judges holding make-shift military style trials for any rioters or "Green" reformists protesting or chanting anti-government slogans. The Tehran Derby match between historic rivals (Blues and Reds) is one of Iran's most watched games and is expected to attract in excess of 100,000 live spectators and millions of TV viewers. There are also reports of large pro-government militia camps built outside the entrance to the stadium. An Iranian Sports Daily Donyaye Football (The World of Soccer) reports that two thirds of tickets for this game have been blocked for public purchase and made available only for intelligence, military and government staff.
If true, these unprecedented moves point out to Ahmadinejad's fear of the possibility of anti-government chants and "Green" pro-Mousavi gestures during the game, which will be broadcast live.
َAbout two weeks ago, in another unprecedented move, Iran's Official TV Channel 3, stopped live broadcast of an important match in the professional soccer league (attended by 80,000 fans) because of the "Green" reformist chants and anti-Ahmadinejad slogans.//
