America in One Sentence

May 27, 2008

How would you describe America in one sentence?! I have been living in the United States of America for more than 20 years now, and on every single trip to the motherland, Iran, there is someone who wants me to summarize my life story and experiences in America. So over time, I have tried to boil down my perspective of America in short sentences:

- It's like a jungle, with both beautiful and scary scenery and people. The strong survive, the weak perish. - It's social Darwinism at its fullest, the wise flourish, the fools perish. - "Az sheere Morgh ta Joone Adamizad":You'll get everything here, from the most beautiful to the ugliest, from the most serene to the most violent, from the poorest to the richest, from the most ignorant to the most knowledgeable. - America is the WORLD, condensed in 500 years: its history, people, evolution, birth, rise and fall!

I will share with you the good, the bad and the ugly of America over time.

Where do YOU live? Can you describe your country in one sentence? Please add to comments below. You can choose a username or just leave it blank. We will select good responses and post for everyone's benefit.
