Beating 35000 Contestants, Iranian-born Mehrzad Marashi is Winner of 2010 German "Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar"

Last night, Iranian-born Marashi outperformed some 35000 contestants to win this year's finale of "Deutschland Sucht Den Superstar" (German version of American idol talent search show), with 56.4 percent of the audience votes. Marashi who is 29 now, moved at 5 from Tehran to Germany with his family. He and his family often wear green to show solidarity with Iran's peaceful "Green" reformist movement against the Iranian government. Some six million TV viewers and 1000 studio audience watched episodes of the German Superstar search. Marashi proposed to his girlfriend on one of the episodes.
