Watch When an Iranian Writes in English! A Better way of Writing.
This is how I would write this. I am not necessarily doing a word-by-word transliteration or finding idioms for the expressions. I am just trying to get the writer's point across in a professional, polite way but as emphatic as our poor heart-broken fellow-Iranian. But when you read this imploring plea, you notice that it is heavy on emotion and lean on facts or details of Tom's behavior:
Dear Mr. Hamilton: Greetings. I have always appreciated your leadership and management style. I am writing to you because I feel extremely frustrated, so I humbly seek your assistance in protecting me from Tom. I cannot think of a reason for his behavior towards me, but from his first day in the Department he has been undermining me before Mr. Wilson, in the hopes of becoming his trusted confidant. Tom's underhanded behavior has coaxed Mr. Wilson into assigning him as his right-hand man and having me work under him. Mr. Wilson has promised to assign me as his right hand man next year but I am not that optimistic. I think of his promise as a hat trick trying to hoodwink me. So I zipped my lips (or wore a seal of silence on my lips) because I know he was just cajoling (sweet talking or flattering) me. Realizing that my transfer would be good for nothing, I asked him to just forget about why I came to see him. I pleaded to him to: "Hear no evil, see no evil." But Mr. Wilson was determined, come hell or high waters. Well, to make a long story short, I am now working in the mailroom with a group of unfit coworkers. Imagine how much it really hurts. …....
