Gaffe in Ahmadinejad's auction: $80000 Montblanc pen sold for $400!
Last week, Iranian news sources disclosed a gaffe by Ahmadinejad's office during the fundraising auction of Presidential gifts for the benefit of the needy. Apparently, a rare Montblanc Charlie Chaplin Limited Edition fountain pen, a diplomatic gift to Ahmadinejad, auctioned elsewhere for $80,000, was not properly appraised and sold in Ahmadinejad's auction for only $400 (1.35 million toomans in Iranian currency)!
There are reportedly only 88 of these rare pens made by Montblanc and Ahmadinejad's was number 15. The pen has white gold and diamonds in its construction.
