LOST: Iranian version
The uncensored original copies of the ABC TV series "Lost" became widely popular among Iranians, so popular that the Iranian government authorized an official edited version for distribution as an authorized home video. The edited version shows mostly women's head shots to avoid displaying their low cut and tank top shirts and breast cleavage. But due to the story line, censoring too many scenes has proven difficult, so in many scenes, the Islamicized version uses image processing software to cover women's chests (see attached images). Apparently, the censorship does not equally apply to men's revealing outfits in the series, so some Iranian intellectuals and critics cite this as another example a double-standard and hypocrisy by Iran's male dominated government.
In the Official videos, immediately after the series, a radical Islamic critic of the Western culture outlines his sharp criticism of the moral flaws in Western films, but apparently people censor that part of the DVD because Iranians keep wanting more of these morally flawed series!
