Bijan's mansion now for Sale. Any Buyers? (Images)
Nearly 15 months after his death, Bijan Packzad's mansion is now for sale to "qualified buyers." It appears that Bijan's girlfriend had to finally vacate the $12 milion ritzy Beverly Hills palace to pave the way for Bijan's heirs to split the house value.
The Real estate ad indicates the 12,000 sq. ft. mansion has 7 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms! It also includes a $200k chandelier made entirely of Bijan perfume bottles, a fully landscaped pool oasis and a 22-car garage -- Bugatti Veyron not included! Public records show Bijan bought the house in 2002 for $5 million.
The nearly three-quarters of an acre site contains manicured gardens, a one-bedroom guesthouse with an attached cabana, a tiled swimming pool and a spa. A stone path lined by orange trees, roses, bougainvillea vines and a fig tree wraps around the house.
Bijan Pakzad (generally known simply as Bijan) was a well-known Iranian American world-class designer of menswear and fragrances who clothed some of the world's most powerful leaders including Presidents Carter, George H.W. Bush, Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama. Born 1944 in Tehran, Iran, Bijan immigrated to the United States in 1973. His exclusive boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills was established in 1976 and described as "the most expensive store in the world".
Bijan boasted of his Persian (Iranian) heritage with pride, although his Iranian critics claim they are not aware of Bijan's wealth (estimated at $500 million) being used in any major investment projects serving the needs of the Iranian community inside or outside Iran. Bijan's successful career came at a cost: his family life and personal health - He was divorced and died at 67 of massive stroke.
The house is located at 100 Coley Place in Beverly Hills but just like Bijan's Rodeo drive boutique, you gotta have an appointment to see the mansion.
