Finding Happiness in A Penis! Israeli Billionaire Diamond Trader Dies During Penis Enlargement Surgery
Independent Aggregator of News/Events, Kodoom.com: There are several popular jokes about finding "Happiness" in "A Penis" which cannot be listed on a news website but it was recently reported that an Israeli-Belgian billionaire was just trying to do that! Earlier in March, Ehud Arye Laniado, a 65 year old Jewish billionaire diamond trader suffered a heart attack and died during a penis enlargement operation at a private clinic in Paris. This was mysteriously a few days before he had to appear in Belgian courts for tax evasion.
A friend of Laniado's, who wished to remain anonymous, said he was "always focused on his appearance and how others perceived him."
Laniado reportedly owned the most expensive penthouse in Monaco worth more than £30 million, as well as a house in the plush LA suburb of Bel Air, where he was said to have loved to drink bottles of Chateau Margaux with models and celebrities.
Laniado's company Omega Diamonds, which is based in the Belgian city of Antwerp, confirmed his passing. A statement from the firm said: "After living an exceptional life Ehud will be brought back home to Israel as his final resting place. He will be dearly missed by us all."
In 2015, Laniado sold the world's most expensive diamond called the Blue Moon of Josephine to Hong Kong businessman and convicted felon Joseph Lau Luen Hung for $48.4 million (£36.8million). The Belgian-Israeli billionaire, whose exact fortune is not publicly known, was in trouble with the authorities in 2013 along with his business partner Sylvain Goldberg. The pair prevented a tax evasion trial by agreeing to payout 160 million euros (£137.7 Million) but later Belgian customs office suspected them of lying and claimed 4.6 billion euros in unpaid taxes as well as a 2 Million euros fine. An appeals court ordered a new trial with Laniado due to appear in court on March 14, mysteriously less than two weeks after his odd death!
The diamond industry has been the subject of several books and movies and prompting boycott of the industry and the precious stone often identified with status and vanity and marketed to those in need of a boost in their self esteem. Ironically, Laniado apparently gave his own life to boost his self-esteem!
The 2006 political thriller movie Blood Diamond, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Connelly and Djimon Hounsou was about diamonds mined in war zones and sold by unethical businessmen to finance wars and conflicts, and thereby profit warlords and diamond companies across the world. The movie was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor.
