Halsey Wants to Have a Concert in Iran!
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com:
The self-made American alternative music star, Halsey, known for previously attempting suicide, has a new wish, considered by some as another attempt to suicide: Performing in Iran! She is shocked by the large number of her fans in Iran and wishes she could perform in Iran, a country ruled by Ayatollahs who do not even tolerate solo public performances by Muslim female vocalists covered in Hijab and head cover!
In Iran's conservative cities like Mashhad and Qom, where conservative ayatollahs have more cultural and judicial clout, several pop music concerts by male singers or bands have been forced to cancel last minute despite having obtained permits from Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance.
Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, known professionally as Halsey, calls herself a "tri-bi" in an interview, due to her being biracial, bipolar, and bisexual. At 17 she attempted suicide and diagnosed as bipolar.
Halsey has sold 22 million records in the US alone, based on certifications alone. Her awards and nominations include four Billboard Music Awards, one GLAAD Media Award, a Guinness World Record, a MTV Video Music Award and a Grammy Award nomination. Halsey is noted for her distinctive singing voice, and her music is usually based on her personal experiences. Outside of her career, she has been involved in suicide prevention awareness and sexual assault victim advocacy.
