In Pictures: Fashionable actresses defy Hijab in Iran's Fajr Film Festival
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: Once again, the annual Fajr Film Festival, Iran's equivalent to Oscars, was held this week in Tehran on the anniversary week of Iran's 1979 revolution. Some actors and actresses wore black to mourn the victims of the massive earthquake. Others used the opportunity to showcase their fashionable garments while still observing the country's strict Islamic dress code and mandatory Hijab for women:
Defying conservative clerics, and perhaps thanks to the tolerance by reform-minded President Rohani, most women defied strict Hijab rules and showed hair through their loosely wrapped scarves while ensuring their scarf stays in place.
Among those attending this year's film festival were internationally renowned Bahram Radan, Leyla Hatami and Payman Maadi (Salm Khan in the American TV series The Night Of, Ali in Camp X-Ray, Nader in A Separation', Peyman inAbout Elly).
Mozhgan Saberi's jittery nervous moves with her scarf during a Press Conference:
Among other celebrities in attendance was Adel Ferdosipour, the reformist-minded smiley host of Iran's most popular TV sports program, 90(Navad)''.
