Iranian Cinema in exile: New film by Bahman Ghobadi stars Monica Bellucci

Entertainment Blog sent by J. Jonroy Avani: Kurdish Iranian director Bahman Ghobadi ("Nobody Knows About Persian Cats") scores another big breakthrough for Iranian films. His latest film “Rhinos Season” (in Farsi: "Akharin Sher Kargadan") stars Paris-based Italian actress Monica Bellucci, the international star and a most sought-after striking and sensual actress for leading roles in Europe and in Hollywood.
Shot in Turkey and produced by Bahman Ghabadi and the Turkish producer Menderes Demir, the film is now in post-production. It will probably premiere in the Official Selection Competition at Cannes Film Festival 2012. Let's hope so.
Film also stars Arash Labbaf (International pop music star of Iranian descent) as well as famed Iranian mega-star, the California-based Behrouz Vossoughi (Featured in 90+ films, including Caravans with Anthony Quinn.) Behrouz was once married to the renowned Iranian Siva singer/actress Googoosh.
“Rhinos Season” is described as a “political film.” It will be a decades-spanning tale and love story, with Bellucci playing an Iranian woman. Istanbul-based Kurdish actress Belcim Bilcin also acts in this film.
