Iranian TV copies Modern Family but ...
Independent Persian News Search Engine, Kodoom.com: Several Iranian bloggers and news websites have criticized or mocked Iran's state run TV for "Haft Sang", which critics call an expensive carbon copy of American TV series Modern Family. Apparently, however, there are differences between the original and Iran's Islamicized version. For example, the homosexual "gay" couple in the American series is replaced in Iran with two male college roommates who, like the American version, are adopting a child.

In the Iranian version, the girl in the family is also replaced with a boy, and the family is now worried about the poor moral standards of the male friend of their son - Poor morality now defined as smoking, etc. and not sexual relations

A news blog on Tabnak demands action and response by Iran's state run TV for spending millions of dollars of public funds for duplicating an American TV series made for a different culture and audience.
