Oliver Stone: Turn Off Your Phones. Snowden director warns against technology
IndieWire: Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley and written and directed by Academy Award–Winning Oliver Stone, "Snowden" is released in theaters nationwide this September. But Stone has some very important words to share with you about your cell phone. In a humorous and foreboding new PSA released by distributor Open Road Films, Stone asks viewers to turn their cell phones off during "Snowden," but goes one step further in suggesting that you might just want to shut your cell phone off forever.
“Each time you make a call, send a text, you’re giving them access,” he warns. “The information you put out voluntarily can burn your life to the ground. This will be our undoing. Think I’m being dramatic? Then don’t take my word for it.”
