Vintage Chicago Venue Welcomes Persian Events
In a rare opportunity, Persian-speaking populations in and around Chicago can now host their events like royalty in the majestic Copernicus Center, the sole surviving atmospheric-style theater in the Chicagoland area, designed by the prestigious firm of Rapp & Rapp. Built in the 1930’s, the Theater at Copernicus Center has a unique vintage ambiance, accented by classic red seats and a breathtaking blue ceiling which resembles a star-filled sky (befitting the namesake of Copernicus). Originally a cinema house, the venue on the Northwest side of Chicago has been fully renovated, modernized and preserved.
In the past, prestigious Persian events have been hosted here (see events pages) from pop concerts (of Ehsan Khajeh Amiri and Dariush) to classical music concerts by Maestros Nazeri and Shajarian. But now for the first time, the venue is offering the promoters and event organizers in the Persian community an exclusive limited time $500 rental credit for events or shows contracted by October 15, 2015 via this link. You can rent the venue for as little as $1700 for a 6-hour block. There are 1,889 seats – 1,415 on the floor and 474 in the balcony.
Concerts and performances will benefit from a large "thrust" stage and two dressing rooms on either side of the stage. In addition to great visibility from seats, large screens on both sides of the stage are crowd pleasers. Amenities required by large shows are easily available (see lighting, sound, & technical specifications, as well as a virtual tour).
