Iran Unveils World's First Herbal Medicine to Treat Alzheimer's
Independent hub for Iran-related News/events, Kodoom.com: Iran's Health Minister today unveiled herbal medicine 'Melitropic' based on extracts from the plant Melissa officinalis (lemon balm) that can be used in treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
The researchers at Iranian Institute of Medicinal Plants (IMP) used ancient and indigenous knowledge of Iranian herb (Dracocephalum) in treatment of brain problems and conducted clinical research on 42 patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer's in the 65-80 age group.
