Iranian Centers Release Vaccine Efficacy and Injury Data

Several vaccine reports have been released in Iran. In one report, the Center for Data Management and Information Technology has reported that 7 out of 1000 vaccinated Iranians have suffered from serious vaccine-related or COVID-related hospitalizations or death. This is an effectiveness of about 50-65% when benchmarked against COVID-related (unvaccinated) hospitalization and death rate of about 15-20 out of 1000.
In fact, a separate report by Shiraz University, has confirmed that vaccinations have been 55% effective against hospitalizations and 65% against death but only 5% against infections.
Iran uses mostly China's SinoPharm as well as Russian (Sputnik V), British (Oxford-AstraZeneca), Indian (Bharat-BioTech Covaxin) and Iranian (COVIran-Barekat) COVID-19 vaccines.
