Mass suicide of dolphins in Persian gulf

Over the past six years 200 dolphins have been found dead in Persian gulf, including 9 that seemed to have committed mass suicide on the shores of Jask this week. Mohammad Bagher Nabavi, Iran's Deputy of Marine Life believes the trend is alarming and points out to major environmental hazards.
Among causes of "mass" death for dolphins are pollution, diseases, and military operations including electronic and high frequency warfare. Persian gulf is highly polluted and also scene to heavy military presence by Iranian and American Navy.
