Where do men and women look first? Find out what Advertisers know
Daily Mail: Men and women see and process information differently. Using a sexy ad, researchers have analysed where the eyes of men and women were drawn on first glance. The color splashes in image below, shows where men, left, and women tend to look at the same bikini ad. Red indicates which part of the poster generates most interest and green the least. In this instance, attention to the face is evenly matched between the genders. But women are much more interested in the model's toned stomach and the price of the bikini. Men (after staring at the face) prefer to focus squarely on her breasts and crotch - rather than her surrounding physique, price info, or rest of her body. Men spent 40% more time than women looking at the face.
Another ad shows a silver Saab, was also used in the research. Analysis found that men went straight to the car's specification, before looking at the car itself and finally the logo in the bottom corner. Women, however, were first drawn to the car, then to its specification, and finally the logo. This may explain why TV car ads targeting women are mostly sensational rather than educational.
Obviously, the research results may be different for Iranians, Asians or Middle Easterners. God only knows where Iranian men would look first, prices or body or ..? Does it event matter? Many Iranian men or women are not big spenders anyway except for emotional, show off or competitive reasons (to keep up with the Joneses)!
