Son of Ayataollah, turned pop singer despite father's wish, buried near holy shrine
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related news/Events, Kodoom.com: Hamed Hakan (Zakeri), a once underground pop music star, was buried by request of his influential father, Ayatollah Zakeri, near the holy shrine of Abdolazim in Rey, a southern suburb of Tehran.
Iranian sources have cited "hardships" Hakan had faced to become a musician despite his father's wish. After years of performing without an official permit (underground), in 2014 Hakan finally received a performance permit from Iran's Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance, but he never released an official album in the market before his death.
Hakan died at 34 of unknown causes rumored to be related to his heart conditions. His funeral was attended by his elderly mourning father.
