Two ancient cities unearthed in Iran (Pictures)
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: Two ancient Iranian cities have been unearthed in the cities of Malayer and Fahraj (in Kerman).
South of Malayer (Hamedan Province) in the town of Samen, archaeologists have discovered an underground town from the Ashkanian era (The Parthian Empire, 247 BC- 224 AD) with stone burial chambers containing some 60 skeletons, many in pristine conditions:
In Fahraj (Kerman Province), strong sand storms have revealed an ancient town with remaining bones, adobe walls and ceramic pottery (pictured below).
A large portion of ancient artifacts in Iran have been damaged due to looting and neglect.
