A New Use for Augmented Reality: Virtual Catwalk in Iran Removes Face and Body of Women Models
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: Vida Jen Nesar, who runs a "Virtual Cat Walk" website in Iran to avoid showing female body parts in compliance with Iran's conservative Islamic rules, has defended the idea as an opportunity for creative and entrepreneurial Iranian women to showcase their clothing designs while observing the laws imposed by the Ayatollahs.
The website uses a Chroma Key technology to remove (make invisible) female models' body parts.
In recent years, Iran's conservative judiciary has rounded up several women working for modeling agencies.
