Films in Iran's "Truth DocuFilm Festival" Censored, Minimally This Year
Independent Aggregator of Persian News/Events, Kodoom.com: This year, film selections shown in Iran's annual "Cinema Haghighat" Film Festival (Cinema Verite', or Truth Film Festival, in Persian) will still be subject to censorship but "minimally," according to Seyed Mehdi Tabatabaee Nejad, member of the Festival Board.
"We tried our best to work with directors to minimize editing and alterations of these documentaries, but we are still subject to the Monitoring and Evaluation Guidelines imposed by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance," Tabatabaee Nejad said in a Press Conference.
There are some 43 foreign guests invited to this year's festival.
