In Pictures: Tehran's Fashion Show
Iranian news sources have published images of Fajr Fashion show in Tehran's Milad tower:
Iran's theocratic government is one of the few in the world that mandates strict body cover, preferably of dark colors, and head cover (Islamic Hijab) for women in public. Boys and girls are also not supposed to publicly show affections or intermingle unless they are married. Many young Iranians often defy these strict rules and a large number of Iranians decide to immigrate, like those who have been instrumental in boosting Turkey's economy.
Recently, for the first time in post-revolutionary Iran, a large group of young girls in the city of Shiraz participated in an act of group rebellion against mandatory head cover laws by removing their scarves during a public skating meetup.
Morality Police routinely warns or arrests people who violate modesty rules. This week, Intelligence and Police officers targeted college students in Kermanshah for dancing at their graduation ceremony.
