Lyndall Sachs, Australia's lady Ambassador in Iran has published pictures of her strolling in Tehran during Norooz (Persian new year and spring festival), enjoying Persian sights and foods such as Dizin (Persian meat stew served with sangak, Persian stone-baked bread, seen in picture).
Sachs started her stroll in the northern end of Vali Asr avenue (formerly Pahlavi avenue), Tehran's longest street, and ended up her 18-kilometer stroll with Persian lunch at a traditional cafe.
In December, the exiled Iranian feminist, Masih Alinejad, now a dissident in the U.S., lashed out at Sachs for wearing black chador: "Australia's ambassador to Iran, bend over backwards for the oppressive government of the Islamic Republic and wear the most conservative form of hijab in Iran while Iranian women risk their life to protest mandatory hijab."
