Trump bans visa to Iranians after posting image by Iranian photographer in The White House, with wrong date!
Shortly before issuing an executive order to ban visa to Iranians, Trump thanked an Iranian American photographer, Abbas Shirmohammadi, who has captured an image of the contested crowds in Trump's inauguration. Trump has framed Shirmohammadi's panoramic photograph, and placed it prominently in the White House Press Hall, as proof his inauguration crowds were impressive despite aerial photos shared on the media showing large patches of empty spaces.
But the inscription on the picture by Abbas Shirmohammadi includes a mistake! Written at the bottom is a date – "January 21st, 2017" – which is actually the day after Mr Trump was inaugurated. January 21 was actually the date of the anti-Trump Women's March around the world, which was according to some estimates far better attended that Mr Trump's inauguration and was the biggest day of protests in US history.
Despite Trump's rhetoric and actions against Iranians, to date no Iranian citizens have been convicted in the United States of terrorist related activities. The new visa ban includes also Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Sudan and Somalia but not Saudi Arabia or Pakistan. Several Saudi Arabian and Pakistani citizens have been implicated in terrorist related activities in the United States.
