We Will Bring Simorq Right to Your Home: Listen, See, Read
Message by The Simorq Foundation:
Simorq, created by the well-known Iranian composer, Hamid Motebassem, is based on a story from “Shahnameh” (The Book of Kings), by Hakim Abolghasem Ferdowsi. It has been performed by the Grand National Instruments Orchestra of Iran consisting of thirty eight musicians and vocalists along with the solo voice of Homayoun Shajarian, one of Iran’s most prominent vocalists of today.
This project, which has been supported by over ten thousand viewers after its first presentation in Iran, steps into a new level by releasing a record and holding a series of concerts in Iran and Europe. The Simorq project owes its current success to the hard work of its team members and Iranian music enthusiasts, who by giving time, energy, and financial support have aided the project and have never offered less than their best.
Simorq’s audio CD (to hear samples click here) is to be released early summer, 2011, in high definition. It is to be accompanied by a complete booklet filled with all the information and the poetry used in the project, in English and Persian. We are aware that after public distribution of the record, many sources which disregard the rights of creators of the Simorq project and do not think about the associated high costs, make it available to everyone for free. This adds yet another difficulty to the production of such a project and discourages many artists, supporters, and friends of the project.
We are also well-aware that Iranian music is not as easily available to many Iranians and other enthusiasts outside of Iran, and they do not see any option other than downloading it. Simorq has thought of an easy solution for this.
By paying twenty euros/ thirty US dollars as donation to the Simorq Foundation along with the shipping expenses listed below and sending its receipt to the following email address, the Simorq album will be sent to your given mailing address anywhere in the world, signed to your name by the composer.
