Yalda and Christmas: In Iran, Not in Vegas!
While many Persian media in America are paid to promote expensive Christmas concerts in fancy Las Vegas hotels and casinos, we decided instead to show you some traditional Yalda and Christmas celebrations inside Iran in more modest and humble settings:
Yalda with the nomadic (ashayeri in Persian) families in Iran. The first video is from Javad Family. As the winter night blankets the land, the Javad family gathers together, their spirits alight with anticipation. The air is filled with the aroma of freshly baked sweets and the sound of laughter, as loved ones come together to honor the ancient Persian tradition of Yalda:
In the second video, you join Hassan Khosrow and his nomadic family as they celebrate the enchanting Yalda Night, a memorable occasion filled with joy, togetherness, and the warmth of loved ones
With Didar News, Persian literary experts Dr. Dadkhah and Dr. Sepideh Mousavi, musicians Parisa Khademi, Ghodratollah Khademi, and Hamed Babayi:
