Inflation in Iran Creeps Up to 42% on the Anniversary of Islamic Revolution
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related news/Events, Kodoom.com: Only a few days after the celebration of the 40th anniversary of 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, the country's Statistical Center (markaz amar) issued a gloomy report pointing out to an annualized inflation rate of 42%.
The alarming inflation rate could be partly a result of renewed sanctions, limiting Iran's oil and export revenues, which follow President Trump's unilateral cancellation of the Nuclear Deal.
Three months ago, numbers released by Iran's Central Bank (news link HERE) indicated inflation of 150% in tobacco prices and 83% in (mostly imported, at least in parts) household appliances.
