Iranian Celebrities Paid to Promote Trump Partners in Dubai; DAMAC Properties

There is a new controversy in Iran over the promotion of a Trump partner business (DAMAC) in Dubai by famed Iranian actors and actresses.
DAMAC is Trump's partner on an 18-hole golf course and club in Dubai.
Seyed Javad Hashemi who is often typecast as an Islamic revolutionary hero or martyr in Iranian cinema and is well connected to Iran's state-run TV is among Iranian celebrities who promoted the real estate business in Dubai. The list includes other celebrities such as Reza Tavakkoli and Mahvash Vaghari.
The real estate market in Dubai has been negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and currently many Iranian expats prefer Turkey over Dubai for their vacation or investment property.
Iranian expats extracted an estimated $50 billion out of the country last year (more than the country's revenues from oil export).
