Seven Months After The Hurricane: Americans, Many Trump Supporters, Still Living in Tents (Video)
Nearly seven months after Hurricane Michael slammed into the Florida panhandle, many Americans are still without homes. The Category 5 storm made landfall last October, killing 43 people. It caused more than $6 billion of damage.
While Trump is preparing for a possible war with Iran, and his Administration has authorized the largest recent increase in the Pentagon budget, Federal budgetary constraints for domestic and reconstructive outlays have prevented a speedy recovery in hurricane-ravaged areas so many Florida residents are still living in tent cities or face homelessness.

Separately, more than a year and a half since Hurricane Harvey hit the Gulf Coast in Texas, there is still a long road to recovery for parts of the region. A sweeping study of water quality in the storm’s aftermath concludes that the storm flushed toxic metals and acidic water into Galveston Bay.
