Video: Iran's Top Economics Major Graduate Now A Peddler in Tehran Subway
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: Iran's Channel 5 TV has interviewed one of the many peddlers in Tehran's subway station who claims to be the top score among Economics major in Iran's Nationwide University Admission Screening Exams.
He says he is a subway peddler working 6 to 8 hours a day and earns 100,000 toomans (about $8 US).
Iran has the largest number of college graduates in the region. Yet the culture of nepotism and Iran's hidden economy have provided obstacles to meritocracy.
