The Latest on Fatalities and Damages During Israel's Attack on Iran
Iran's Air Defense Authority has confirmed at least 4 military officers have been killed and several military bases in Tehran, Ilam and Khuzistan provinces have been damaged "to a limited extent" during this morning's strike by Israel. Some Iranian sources have called those killed "Martyrs on the path to Free Palestine." Iran's Armed Forces Headquarters has issued a statement claiming Israeli fighter jets have fired from the airspace above US bases in Iraq and that some of the damaged radar stations in Iran have already been repaired and back in operation while others are being replaced.
In the statement, there is no mention of the officers killed or of immediate revenge. In fact, the Armed Forces statement urges America to "harness" Israel to ensure the "war does not spread." This is despite previous statements by IRGC commanders promising harsh revenge if Israel attacks any spots in Iran.
Two days ago, IRGC Chief. General Salami, had threatened Israel with ground invasion if they continue their aggression. Earlier in October, after Iran's attack on Israel's Airforce bases, Iran had pledged a harsher retaliation if Israel responds.
There were also explosions today heard in Asatara in northwest Iran. According to the city's mayor, it was due to military exercises.
