Soulful Iranian poet indicted for poetry

Hila Sedighi

Hila Sedighi is a young Iranian poet whose soulful poems (such as the one below) have become popular on Youtube and Facebook. Hila's poems are often related to trials and tribulations of Iranians and particularly women, and she performs them with passion and genuine pain. Iran Green Voice reported today that Hila has been indicted by the Revolutionary Court, and questioned in length over the past three months by Intelligence Ministry and Revolutionary Guards Corp. While awaiting her trial, she emphasizes she has not broken any laws and only writes socio-political poems.
