New tactic by relentless Iranian reformists fatigues police and militia
On the first anniversary of Iran's disputed election, "green" reformists initially called for widespread protest on the streets, but called it off last minute after a large deployment of security forces on every major street in Tehran (attached Youtube video showing a major intersection In Tehran on June 20, 2010). Nevertheless, the week-long alert and state of readiness, and the idea of confrontation with peaceful fellow citizens, have reportedly fatigued Iranian police, and even some hard-core pro-leader militia members who take pride in protecting the country against "foreign enemies."
The constant cat-and-mouse game seems to be an effective strategy by Iranian reformists against government's "iron fist" policy and heavy-handed suppression of dissent.
