Daughter of Founding Father of Iran's Islamic Revolution Calls for an End to Theocracy and Mandatory Hijab
In a rare unprecedented interview on the roo-dar-roo (face-to-face) program, Faezeh Hashemi Rafsanjani, daughter of chief architect of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, discusses strong opposition to mandatory hijab and theocratic Islamic government ruled by a Leader.
Ms. Rafsanjani who spent six months as a political prison, is a reformist and women's rights activist. In the interview, she admires Masih Alinejad, the exiled Iranian women's rights activist and founder of the "My Stealthy Freedom" movement (also known as Stealthy Freedoms of Iranian Women), a Facebook page that invites Iranian women to post pictures of themselves without a hijab.
