Rachel Maddow of MSNBC, reports from the Vazir Akbar Khan neighborhood of Kabul (video below) where warlords, contractors and government officials have used Millions reaped in war profits and contract income from US agencies, to build expensive mansions and houses on dirt roads. Next to these mansions, desperately poor people dig for food in trash piles and junk yards. Maddow concludes that in the war economy, the bulk of taxpayer dollars is not spent on building infrastructure or fighting poverty, but on warlords, corrupt politicians and military contractors.
