Ahmadinejad's VP accused of meeting American Ambassador, mixed dances, serving alcohol
Elias Naderan, a conservative and outspoken member of Iranian Parliament, who recently accused Ahmadinejad's First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi, of being involved in a major financial corruption case, has now accused Ahmadinejad's Chief of Staff, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, of meeting a former American Ambassador to Israel, hosting mixed-gender dance parties and serving alcohol in some meetings and parties. The accusation can not be independently verified. Iranian Judiciary is not an independent body, and is close to Iranian conservative leader Ali Khamenei who is known to despise Rahim Mashaei.
Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, Ahmadinejad's controversial Chief of Staff, is accused regularly, by fundamentalist supporters of Iranian leader, of liberal and secular views. He was accused of immodesty after frequent visits with beautiful Iranian actresses, for supporting relaxed rules on Islamic cover for women, and for facilitating a Western style pop music concert in Iran.
