Cruz Calls Himself Iran's Worst Nightmare, Defends Israel, Compares His Opponent to Ahmadinejad!
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: During the 2016 Presidential campaigns, the fundraising page of Senator Ted Cruz of Texas showed an image of him that looked like something from the set of "Sons of Anarchy." It was Cruz’s head superimposed onto a shirtless, tattooed body, completer with a huge bald eagle on his chest. “Cruz” is written in bold across his stomach and bracketed by two six-shooters. He’s got an American flag on his left arm, what appears to be Winston Churchill on his right and a giant rose on his neck. The poster read "Iran’s worst nightmare!"
Cruz lost (badly) in 2016 GOP Presidential primary to a relentless Donald Trump who was more Anti-Iran than Cruz, but the campaign poster which read "Iran’s worst nightmare" was once again on display this week during Mr. Cruz' re-election campaign for this November (above video, Minute 2:20). Cruz' Democratic opponent, Beto O’Rourke, is now leading by 2 percentage points among likely voters in U.S. Senate race, new poll finds.
An estimated 60,000 Iranian Americans live in Texas but Cruz continues to leverage his anti-Iran, pro-Israel position. Last week, when Iran's former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad tweeted words of support for Kaepernick, Cruz jumped on that tweet and promptly made the connection between Ahmadinejad and Beto O'Rourke, Cruz's opponent in November's midterm elections. O'Rourke recently appeared in a viral video defending NFL players' rights to protest racial injustice by kneeling during the national anthem.
"When a radical anti-Semite, anti-American Iranian dictator emphatically agrees with you," Cruz tweeted, "maybe that's a sign Beto, the NFL, and Nike are all on the wrong side of the American people ...."
In January Cruz met with former Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi of Iran to discuss overthrow of Iranian government. Although in that meeting Senator Cruz discussed the "Iranian regime," in his public campaign for his American supporters and his re-published poster he attacks "Iran" which could provoke Anti-Iranian sentiments among his radical supporters and possibly violence against Iranian Americans.
