Former CIA boss admits US helped Iraq in war against Iran
In the second half of his interview on PBS, Mike Morell, former deputy director of the CIA, admitted to Charlie Rose that Iranians are correct on blaming the US for aiding Saddam Hussein during the war against Iran.
Morell calls Iran and ISIL as the main troublesome powers in the Middle East but avoids incriminating Israel or Saudi Arabia for their roles in regional conflicts. He also disagrees with current intelligence assessments on Iran, and asserts his "personal" belief that Iran is after a nuclear weapon.
Morell was once called by Consortium News as the CIA Yes Man, and enjoyed a close briefing relationship with George W. Bush. He also coordinated the CIA review of Secretary of State Colin Powell’s embarrassing infamous Feb. 5, 2003 address to the United Nations.
