Hearing Both Sides of Iran-Israel Missile Attacks
While Israel has claimed that it has neutralized 99% of Iran's direct attack, several Iranian and non-Iranian sources have claimed a strategic victory for Iran. This morning, there were news of Israel's limited counterattack against Iran. The following is a compilation of news and videos which offer opposing views about the conflict:
Times of India quotes Hebrew Daily claiming Iran's Missiles damaged three IDF Air Bases, including Nevatim which hosts Israeli fighter jets used to attack Damascus. The footage shared by Times of India shows extensive damage to the base, which contradicts images published by Israeli officials showing small explosion potholes in the base:
Israeli TV claims 99% of more than 300 drones and missiles fired by Iran were intercepted and only several ballistic missiles reached Israeli territory, causing "minor" damage to an air base. They also claimed besides US, UK, France and Jordan, Saudi Arabia also helped Israel intercept some Iranian missiles:
Scott Ritter, a former US Marine intelligence officer and former UN weapons inspector and military strategist, argues that Iranian missiles successfully hit Israel's highest security base proving the expensive Defensive Dome failed:
Iranian military commanders explain (in Persian) that the new paradigm is to directly attack Israel anytime Iranian assets or people are targeted by Israelis. IRGC Commander explains a major goal of the attack was to identify, test and neutralize the complex US-Israeli air defense systems and paralyze their electronic warfare:
Turkish General and former Intelligence Officer Ismail Hakki Pekin claims he has received information that two Israeli bases were heavily damaged during Iranian attack:
Iran's regional political analyst Ali Akbar Raefipour claims "Iran purposefully targeted no civilian or business zones in Israel... Israelis lied about neutralizing the attack. Iran's plan all along was to sacrifice 60% of the first wave of drones to combat the air defense and let the other 40% hit their targets, which happened.. In our asymmetric warfare, a few million dollars of Iranian weapons cost US and Israeli air defense more than $1 billion.. Overnight, the markets for US-Israeli made air defense systems plummeted while markets for Iranian-made drones and ballistic missiles skyrocketed.. Israelis are bluffing because they are scared after they made a strategic mistake by attacking the Iranian Consulate to test Iran's resolve.. They [Israelis] now realize Iran even has plans to enter into Israel via land routes if the conflict escalates.. The seizure of the Israeli-owned cargo in Persian Gulf ensures all import routes from the East to Israel are bottlenecked now except the path through Turkey... Iran successfully hit the most protected airbase in the world."
Following explosions heard near Isfahan and Tabriz (possibly caused by Israel's test attack on Iranian air defense) this morning, Iranian MP and member of National Security Committee has stated that "The impact of Israel attack was not large enough to demand immediate retaliation but we will retaliate." Israel's Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir posted on twitter with one word in Hebrew which means "Paper Tiger" or "Scarecrow." Some analysts believe the tweet is a sign of Ben Gvir's frustration with the failed Israeli attempt on Iran. The tweet may also be a diversion from the "test" nature of the attack to make Iranians reduce their vigilance by believing that they have easily neutralized Israel's most advanced weapons. The real attacks planned may be of a totally different nature and scale.

Meanwhile, exiled Iranian Human Rights Lawyer and Nobel laureate, Shirin Ebadi, says she is not surprised of the escalation of hostilities in the region because Iran's Islamic government has for years adopted a hostile foreign policy not only towards Israel but towards Arab and neighboring countries.
