Iran Rejects Russia's Offer to Mediate with Trump Before US Elections

Recently Mohsen Rezai, a founder and former Commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps, compared Trump's political negotiations style to that of a "professional casino gambler" who will bluff and bet as long as risks are not too high: "Trump is like a [losing] gambler and if he feels he can win by military operations against us he would go for it [to save his Presidency] but we have made it clear to him that we have our fingers on triggers and will ensure he loses all bets and chips in this game if he starts anything because we have been waiting for [an excuse] to retaliate the assassination of commander Soleymani."
According to Rezai and other Iranian officials, Trump's efforts to make a clandestine deal with Iran to boost his re-election campaign in November have failed. In June, Hossein Dehghan, a military advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader called Trump a "criminal" and said; "We will NOT negotiate with a criminal but open to unconditional talks with Saudi Arabians."
Today, President Rouhani's spokesperson rejected Russia's offer -read Putin's offer - to mediate between Trump and Iran before US election: "Other countries have also tried to mediate but we will not talk with Americans through any mechanisms other than the Nuclear Deal [they violated]. They should also first be bold and admit their renewed sanctions against Iran and violation of the Nuclear Deal was a mistake."
Referring to Trump's threat to resume sanctions against Iran, Mohsen Rezai has indicated: "Once he leaves the Nuclear Agreement he cannot use mechanisms in the same Agreement against us."
Separately, in July, in response to Trump's new pressures and Russia's and EU's reluctance to dissuade him, Iran's Foreign Ministry disclosed terms of a 25-year military and economic pact with China and snubbed Trump through a prediction: "U.S. will be the main loser on this pact."
