On Iran, Stewart to Obama: This new thing called US Diplomacy sounds interesting
CNN: Jon Stewart took a night off Wednesday from talking about Donald Trump to host President Obama and discuss another big story: the Iran nuclear deal. Stewart showed a clip of Senator Lindsey Graham stating he thought the deal was terrible, even though he hadn't read it yet!
"Historically bad deal? Let me tell you something as a [New york] Mets [baseball] fan ... I know a bad deal when I see one," Stewart exclaimed. He also quipped: "This new thing called [US] Diplomacy seems interesting. But we still need to bomb people at some point?!"
Obama drew a parallel between the peace diplomacy with Iran and that with the Soviet Union during the cold war: "You don't make peace with your friends." He also suggested if enough Americans prefer diplomacy with Iran over a war, they should contact their congresspeople and ask them not to block the nuclear peace deal.
