Secret Negotiations, US Elections Will Decide Release of Iranian Assets

Hossein Tanhai, the Head of Iran-South Korea Chamber of Commerce has confirmed that $6 billion in Iranian accounts currently frozen (blocked) in South Korea due to new sanctions imposed by Donald Trump may be released pending outcome of US elections and (US-Iran) negotiations.
Currently an estimated $40 billion in Iranian accounts and foreign currency assets are blocked by various countries in compliance with tough sanctions imposed by Donald Trump. No details of secret negotiations between Iranian and U.S. officials are disclosed but President Trump avoided directly attacking Iranian officials in the recent Presidential debate with Joe Biden. Trump has also indicated that Iranians will be the first country to come to negotiation tables if he wins in the Presidential elections.
Iran's stock market index and national currency valuations have plunged in recent weeks and annualized inflation index currently stands at nearly 50%. Strict sanctions and shortage of currency have crippled Iran's economy and made it difficult to even import critical medical supplies to treat coronavirus patients. The country is now suffering from a third wave of coronavirus and a record high death toll.
