Video of Unprecedented Speech by Iranian Female MP Lashing Out at Clerics and Supreme Leader
Independent Aggregator of Iran-related, news/events, Kodoom.com: In a speech unprecedented in Iranian Islamic Parliament, the head of Women's fraction, MP Parvaneh Salahshouri, lashed out at the clerics, IRGC militants (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), and even the Supreme Leader for country's current economic and social crisis: The only way out of the current crisis is Supreme Leader's intervention, political and constitutional referendum, curbing IRGC powers, ending censorship and freeing political prisoners, but our clergy instead worry about women showing strands of hair from under their scarves, or permission to ride bicycles!
Salahshouri (Salahshoori) is an Iranian sociologist and reformist politician who is currently a member of the Parliament of Iran representing Tehran.
Another MP from Tehran, Gholamreza Heydari, also lashed out at country's leadership in a rare and candid speech: We occupied the US Embassy and continued it despite its costs, which led to a war with Iraq, which we did not stop until capitulation, Then we started a costly nuclear program and continued it despite substantial costs until we were forced to capitulation again!
