Videos: In Nowruz, American and Iranian Leaders Focus on Iranian Women
While the US President and his wife were hosting a Nowruz (Persian New Year) event with the theme of supporting Iranian women's movement against mandatory Hijab, some Iranian news agencies aired videos showing Iranian Leader hosting an event for young girls coming of age (for wearing Hijab with the onset of puberty).
Video 1 shows Biden and his wife hosting a group of well-connected Iranian Americans featuring three Iranian women: Jasmin Moghbeli (NASA astronaut), Rana Mansoor (musician) and Sahba Motallebi (instrumentalist).
Video 2 shows Iranian Leader leading a prayer and encouraging Hijab and modesty for girls reaching puberty.
Video 3: Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei speaking on the occasion of Nowruz at the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad, acknowledges shortcomings in economic progress and social justice, denies involvement in Ukraine war and offers an olive branch to Europeans and world leaders.
