Iranians appalled by forced TV confessions of a young girl found guilty of dancing!
Independent aggregator of Iran-related News/Events, Kodoom.com: Before last week, Maedeh Hozhabri was one of the many unnamed young Iranian girls taping their dance moves in the privacy of their homes - because dance clubs or outdoors dancing is forbidden in Iran - and sharing them with friends and fans on Instagram and Facebook. But a sudden decision by radical deep-state groups to crack down on internet dancers, and airing forced confessions of Maedeh on Iran's state-run TV, has made her into a national celebrity.
Iranians, liberal and even conservative religious groups, have been outraged by TV confessions of a young girl admitting to a sin of "dancing!" A senior Islamic cleric (Zaeri) criticized authorities and urged them to tackle larger sins (such as the widespread fraud).
Facing widespread criticism, Iranian TV blamed the confessions on a "Senior Judiciary official." But the Judiciary has since denied any involvement!
Iran's Children's Rights organization has called the forced confessions a patent instance of violence against children and plans a law suit against Iranian TV.
Iran's Communications Minister, himself a former Intelligence officer, calls the forced confessions a ploy by the economic mafia to distract the public from Rohani's plans to float the currency and block subsidized currency allocation to deep state smugglers (often linked to IRGC, Revolutionary Guard Corps).
Many Iranian celebrities have also supported Maedeh and criticized the tasteless abusive broadcast of forced TV confessions.
Others like Congressman MP Mahmoud Sadeghi have wondered why Saeed Tousi, a protege of Iranian Leader and a notorious Quran teacher, who was accused of serial sexual abuse of children was never forced to confess on Iranian TV?!
